چکیده

abstract. in recent years several studies have shown that  control charts with adaptive schemes or double sampling plans detect both small and moderate shifts in the process mean more quickly than the traditional shewhart  chart. in the classical double sampling  chart, the difference between two points were placed in the central region of first stage was not considered. in this study, a new control chart is proposed by combination of double sampling  chart and variable sample size  chart (called dsvss chart), that can successfully reduce the detection time of small mean shift. before a dsvss  chart is used, its design parameters should be determined, hence economic design model of dsvss  chart is constructed. markov chain approach is used to compute the statistical properties of the chart that are essential to our cost function. then, the genetic algorithms (ga) are used to solve the optimal designs of dsvss  chart. finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the use of this model.

Economic-statistical Design of NP Control Chart with Variable Sample Size and Sampling Interval

The control charts are graphical tools and proven techniques to improve the performance of a process. Usually, the processes are not naturally controlled, so the use of control charts will help to reduce the variability and increase the stability of the process. In the traditional approach, control charts with fix sample size and constant sampling intervals were used to identify the changes in ...

The Effect of Measurement Errors on the Performance of Variable Sample Size and Sampling Interval Control Chart

The effect of measurement errors on adaptive and non-adaptive control charts has been occasionally considered by researchers throughout the years. However, that effect on the variable sample size and sampling interval (VSSI) control charts has not so far been investigated. In this paper, we evaluate the effect of measurement errors on the VSSI control charts. After a model development, the effe...

Economic Statistical Design of Multivariate T^2 Control Chart with Variable Sample Sizes

Today, quality improvement and cost reduction are key factors for achieving business success, growth and position. One of the primary tools for quality improvement and cost reduction in online activities of statistical process control is control charts. As the need for monitoring several correlated quality characteristics is extensively growing, the use of multivariate control charts become...

Performance of CCC-r control chart with variable sampling intervals

The CCC-r chart is developed based on cumulative count of a conforming (CCC) control chart that considers the cumulative number of items inspected until observing r nonconforming ones. Typically, the samples obtained from the process are analyzed through 100% inspection to exploit the CCC-r chart. However, considering the inspection cost and time would limit its implementation. In this paper, w...

An Economic Design of Tukey's Control Chart

The significant features of Tukey’s control chart include characteristics such as: easy setup, use of single observation to monitor process, and suitability to monitor destructive testing processes. The control limit width and sampling interval should be determined before Tukey’s control chart can be used. In this study, Duncan’s cost function is modified to construct an economic design model o...

Economic design of Hotelling’s T2 control chart on the presence of fixed sampling rate and exponentially assignable causes

Control charts are extensively used in manufacturing contexts to monitor production processes. This article illustrates economical design of a variable sample size and control limit Hotelling’s T2 control chart based on a novel cost model when occurrence times of the assignable causes are exponentially distributed. The proposed nonlinear cost model is an extension of Duncan’s (J Am Stat ...
